Standard requirements for modeling include height over 5-9.You can try out at open calls at any modeling agency. Who is doing these photo shoots for you? Simple snapshots are usually all that are required. You might consider a career in acting in commercials, instead.

If you're thinking of including a casual look taller in jeans, don't go for any of the lighter wash denims or those that are embellished or have some kind of treatment.
Go for a darker wash (maybe with a heel of boot) for a longer legged look.
Also explore monochromatic looks. They can make you look both long and lean

There are agencies in NYC that specialize in "petites" (usually 5-6 and up
and the work isn't plentiful, either.

As a career move, it's not necessary to sink money into a modeling portfolio when the reputable agencies will evaluate you for free. There are unscrupulous operators out there who play on every young girl's dream to be paid for looking beautiful. It's better to be realistic, and safe.
